The 203-room Tribeca Grand Hotel New York opened in 2000 just two blocks south of its sister property, the SoHo Grand Hotel. The Tribeca district (the TRIangle BElow CAnal street) is being transformed as rents in the Village and SoHo continue to soar and artists are forced to look further south. Home to a variety of restaurants and financial institutions, the hotel's 98-seat Grand Screen provides a technologically advanced screening room for the area's thriving independent film companies. The Tribeca Grand Hotel is the first major hotel to open in the Tribeca area. The Tribeca Grand Hotel has 203 rooms, including six suites and the Grand Suite. The Tribeca Grand Hotel has seven penthouse suites. The Grand Suite is 550 square feet with a 500 square foot terrace offering views of Manhattan (North & South). All suites are sleek and modern, with soft colors and colorful, custom-designed furniture - velvet chairs in rust and silver, a couch in light lime green.
