Summer in the Square
You have an opportunity to take part in the celebration of the summer, which is held in the Union Square Park, each Wednesday throughout July and August till 25 August. There are various concerts, storytelling and dance performances. Each act is different depending on the day and a wide variety of styles are covered, from Irish step dancing, opera and jazz to African drumming and guest appearances by literary characters.
<br>The aim of Summer in the Square was an effort to rejuvenate the Union Square neighbourhood. Since then the series has grown from a small community affair to one of Manhattan's most popular outdoor events.
