Exhibition at the Arsenal Gallery in Central Park

You can still visit exhibition at the Arsenal Gallery in Central Park called Out of Fire and Valor: War Memorials in New York City Parks which is on view until December 7. The exhibition highlights all the emotional power of 200 war monuments located in New York parks. It also coincides with the publication of a book by war veteran Cal Snyder, Out of Fire and Valor: The War Memorials of New York City from the Revolution to 9-11, by Bunker Hill Publishing. The author himself put his photos on display, which are to evoke not only the suffering and heroism of soldiers but also the ways that we honor and remember them. Additional vintage park images, as well as historic objects and artifacts—including one full-sized bronze "doughboy" sculpture—are included in this exhibition, organized by Parks & Recreation’s office of Art & Antiquities.
